Guiyang Metro Line 2 in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is scheduled to begin initial operations in the first half of this year, according to local authorities.
Since trial operations started on Dec 29, 2020, Guiyang Metro Line 2 has operated safely for more than a month, with a total of 3,936 train trips covering 159,000 kilometers.
Trial operations are carried out from 7 am to 8 pm every day, through which the stability and reliability of critical systems and equipment of Metro Line 2 have been effectively tested. Tests have focused on the tracks, power supply system, signal system, vehicle system, passenger service system and disaster prevention alarm system.
Through trial operations, the emergency response ability and service levels of personnel in various positions have been greatly improved.
Once the new subway line officially opens to passengers, people will be able to transfer to Metro Line 1 at Lincheng West Road Station and Penshuichi Station. Guiyang Metro Line 2 will provide increased convenience for commuters in Guizhou's capital city.
