From 2016 to 2020, Guiyang in Southwest China's Guizhou province established itself as a major transport hub in Southwest China. The city's transportation network includes high-speed railways, expressways, docks, waterways and logistics ports.

During the five years, Guiyang opened high-speed railways connecting to Guangzhou, Kunming, Shanghai, Chongqing and Chengdu, while the Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Railway is still under construction.

The Guiyang-Zunyi, Huaxi-Anshun and Guiyang-Qianxi expressways were also constructed and opened to traffic, bringing Guiyang's total expressway length to 612 kilometers.

In 2019, Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport's passenger throughput ranked among China's top 20 airports with passenger throughput above 10 million.

People can travel from Guiyang to surrounding provincial capitals in two to four hours via the high-speed railway network and cities in the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta in two to three hours by plane.

In the past five years, Guiyang's total road length exceeded 2,100 km. The city's road network has strengthened its transportation ability and boosted its economic growth.
