Construction work for the longest bridge on the Guiyang-Nanning high-speed railway -- the Chengjiang double-track super large bridge -- saw major progress, with critical pre-spliced bridge structures installed on Dec 5, laying a solid foundation for the completion of the structure.

The bridge -- located in Du'an county, administered by Hechi city, in Southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region -- has a total length of 15.5 kilometers.

The lower part of the Chengjiang super large bridge has basically been finished and the overall bridge is expected to be completed in April 2021.

In order to protect the environment of the Chengjiang River basin, 46 segmented assembled beams were designed for the key green protection sections of the bridge -- making it the largest high-speed railway bridge with segmented assembly beams in China.

Currently, progress for the tunnel in the Guangxi section of the high-speed railway has reached 70 percent, while overall progress for the bridge project has reached 61 percent and the Guizhou section is also under intensive construction.
