Guizhou's first railway port project completed

On Sept 9, Guiyang Railway Construction Investment Co., Ltd began training its employees for beginning of operations at Guiyang Gaimao railway port.

"The port has special rail and the ability to handle import and export inspection, quarantine and customs inspection of daily goods, liquor, electrical appliances and other goods carried by containers," said Jiang Chunxia, head of the investment and development department of the company.

"At present, the project is under final acceptance; then it will apply for customs acceptance," said Jiang.

As Guizhou's first railway port, Guiyang Gaimao port is being built to improve the function of the national logistics hub city and to join in construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and of new land and maritime channels in western China.

Guiyang Gaimao railway port construction, carried out by Guiyang Railway Construction Investment Co., Ltd., is composed of three phases, including areas for Customs declaration, quarantine operations and bulk inspection as well as for processing, trade, finance and business.

When the port is fully operational, it will attract more enterprises to settle down and enrich and improve industry clusters' methods in Guizhou.
